The Richmond Division of Family Practice: Supporting Physicians, Strengthening Community Care
The Richmond Division of Family Practice (RDFP) is a dedicated non-profit, member-driven organization that supports local healthcare providers to work together across the Primary Care Network (PCN) to optimize local health planning and healthcare navigation in the Richmond community.
We serve as the unified voice and support system for local physicians, working collaboratively to enhance patient care and professional satisfaction.
What we do for Richmond family doctors and the community they serve:
- Support family physicians in identifying and addressing practice-specific challenges.
- Advance access to high-quality primary care through the development of the Richmond Primary Care Network (PCN).
- Recruit and retain family physicians and other health-care professionals to meet the needs of Richmond residents.
- Partner with health-care organizations to improve care for residents in long-term care and residential facilities.
- Provide professional development, education, and networking opportunities for physicians and their teams.
- Promote physician wellness, work-life balance, and sustainable medical practices.
- Strengthen team-based care to improve patient access, coordination, and health outcomes.
- Work with community and health-system partners to enhance primary care services across Richmond.
Who we impact:
Through our work, Richmond residents benefit from improved access to primary care, stronger coordination between health-care providers, physician recruitment and retention efforts, and initiatives that support high-quality community-based care.
