What We’ve Been Asking

Our surveys have explored a wide range of topics, including:

  • Technology readiness and support needs
  • Clinical resources and practice tools
  • Communication effectiveness
  • Practice patterns and workflows
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Community connection and physician experience
  • Awareness of Division programs and services

Together, these responses help paint a clearer picture of the evolving needs of Richmond physicians.

Physicians Value Practical Tools and Resources

One of the strongest themes to emerge was the demand for practical, easy-to-use resources that support patient care and clinic efficiency. Many physicians reported that RXFiles is a valuable tool in day-to-day practice. Respondents also identified step-by-step documentation and short video tutorials as the most helpful resources for increasing SAFE adoption. The message was clear: practical guidance that can be applied directly in practice continues to be highly valued.

Communication Is Working, but Awareness Gaps Remain

Survey feedback suggests that Division communications are reaching physicians effectively.Respondents overwhelmingly indicated that Division priorities are communicated clearly, and many rated the Richmond Rapid Read as easy to read and useful. Many also reported sharing information with colleagues. At the same time, survey responses highlighted opportunities to increase awareness of certain programs and resources, helping ensure physicians can take full advantage of available supports.

Technology Continues to Be a Priority

Technology-related surveys consistently generated strong engagement. Most respondents indicated they were aware of the upcoming Windows 11 transition, while some identified a need for support with planning and implementation. These findings help inform future technology education and support initiatives.

Richmond Physicians Have Diverse Practice Experiences

Survey responses also highlighted the diversity of Richmond’s physician community. Respondents included physicians providing specialized care, conducting home visits, and working in a variety of practice settings. Experiences of professional and community connection also varied, reinforcing the importance of offering a broad range of supports and engagement opportunities.
